Well lets start by giving props to Team Solo for featuring my car and of course to Vic Martino who has always been there through the good, the bad, and the ugly.
I am the owner of this true JDM 1995 Honda Accord Coupe. The car was purchased in 1997 shortly after I moved to Florida. I began modding it to be a street car and daily driver, and soon after it’s purchase, the inevitable happened. I woke up one morning AND THE CAR WAS MISSING! I went through the usual red tape and to make the long story short, I ordered a white 2000 Honda Prelude, thinking that the insurance company would pay off the car. However in short time, my beloved Accord was found in Tampa (of all places), only three days before the check was to be cut for the Prelude. After retrieving my car, still intact with the exception of a blown clutch, I decided to tear her down and start from scratch with the build. After researching the history of the JDM Accord, I began the never-ending quest to source every possible part to complete the transformation. Three years in the making and after countless phone calls, the end result you see in front of you. A true JDM Accord.
Some may ask why an Accord? Well, in my opinion if you ask that question you are in the wrong hobby! The uniqueness of the Accord and the rarity of the JDM parts made this project truly something special. My intention was to keep the clean lines of the Accord from the start of the build. What better way to achieve that was with a full Bomex Aero Kit and OEM Accord badging to compliment the cars overall appearance. The first order of business was to get a set of wheels that would stand out from the crowd, and who better than Volk Racing for that order. After speaking to Volk Racing and selecting the wheel that I so desired they agreed to build a custom set of wheels to fit my 95 Accord. Of course there was a 3 month wait for the gems to arrive from the land of the Rising Sun, so while the wheels were being made, Bomex was next on the list of must have items. Unfortunately Bomex also had a back order for this kit, and two months later the kit arrived at my body shop. The shop had the daunting task of repainting my car from the engine bay to the interior floor. After piecing the car together the car finally debuted at HIN Miami under the Access-JDM/JDMstyles banner. I was pleased to the reception of my car into the JDM scene. I also represent HyRev Crew based out of Japan, JDMeast and Deepvision.net. I an a firm believer in networking and having fun while doing it. The show scene is certainly a competitive sport to some and to those in the JDM scene its "The Culture... not the Trend" which is where the logo for Access-JDM.com came from. Both Mike Xin and myself are the driving force behind the company and will officially open the first quarter in 2005. Be sure to be on the lookout for us at all of the major events, and please stop by and introduce yourself.
I would like to give a big shout out to the following: JDMstyles ~ Premier Tuner Crew, JDMeast, HyRev Crew ( www.hipertekspeed.com), www.JDMuniverse.com and www.Deepvision.net for there support. I would also like to say what’s up to all of those people that thought it couldn’t be done (you know who you are, and don’t try calling me now). Finally, And last but not least, my family away from my family, Team Solo. I wish every team out there had the vision that they do, the industry would be a better place….
