The 2013 Kawasaki KLX 110L – A Fun Ride For Advancing Learners

Kawasaki is one of the leading dirt bike companies, and many kids admire the company’s professional teams, so it’s not surprising that there are a few Kawasaki models designed for young riders. The 2013 Kawasaki KLX 110L, for instance, is ideal for taller kids who love to kick up some dirt on the trails and race in junior competitions. The KLX 110L takes many of its parts from the KX450F, which is used by professional riders, so the young rider in your life will be more than happy to swing his leg over this bad boy and try it out.

The KLX 110L is actually a larger version of the KLX 110 – Kawasaki used larger shocks in the rear and a 2.4-inch longer front fork to give the bike 5.5 and 5.2 inches of travel in the front and rear, respectively. This also makes the dirt bike a bit taller (28.7 inch seat height) than the KLX 110, perfect for lanky kids who love to ride and even adults just starting out. It also offers a modest, but still exciting amount of power, thanks to the four-stroke engine’s 111cc displacement and 9.5:1 compression ratio.

Since the bike is designed for young riders to learn the ins and outs of dirt bike racing, parents will enjoy the throttle limiter that allows them to control just how fast the 110L can go. The bike does have a four-speed manual transmission, but to ensure kids don’t start it up in gear, the bike will not start unless it is in neutral. It’s easy to fire up the engine and hit the track, thanks to the push button starter, but when riders are ready, there is a backup kick start option as well.

As far as looks go, Kawasaki went with the classic lime green color the company is known for, but if you’d prefer something different, there’s no reason you can’t have the body repainted. The 110L looks a lot like the KX450F, and this is because the manufacturer used fenders, a fuel tank, seat, side panels and shrouds that resemble the pro-racing model. There are a number of motorcycle accessories that the company offers as well, making it easy to further customize this ride to suit your kid’s needs and desires.
